Farris Partner, Nikki Charlton, presented at ‘A Deeper Dive: The Intersection of Family Law and Psychology’ on the topic of ‘Managing High Conflict Parents in and Out of Court’. This session touched on Bill-C-78, reforms of the parenting provisions of Canada’s Divorce Act, ethical duties of the lawyers for parents regarding children of clients and being a child-focused family lawyer. It also focused on topics surrounding children resisting contact and what a lawyer should do, managing high conflict parents and guiding high conflict family law cases.
