Corporate Immigration Services

By working closely with other practice areas, our immigration lawyers are able to provide ongoing legal services to some of the leading companies in Canada and throughout the world. We advise not only on the underlying immigration issues, such as devising and administering immigration plans for foreign companies seeking to enter the Canadian marketplace, but also on related issues that may arise as the result of multinational companies operating in foreign jurisdictions. We can also assist in co-ordinating the provision of customs, tax, employment, and labour advice to Canadian companies employing foreign nationals.

Our immigration services assist with the entry of foreign nationals for the purposes of entry to Canada as a business visitor to developing strategies for the retention of foreign nationals for long-term employment in Canada. We help to oversee the proper work authorization process for international workers entering the Canadian labour market either on behalf of a foreign company or under the employment of a Canadian company.

Personal Immigration Services

Our immigration lawyers provide personal immigration services to individuals. We take an encompassing view toward individuals’ applications for residence in Canada, whether it is temporary or permanent in nature. As a result, we assist with the technical requirements of pursuing applications for residence or work authorization in Canada as well as advise individuals on such matters as local government medical coverage, education enrolment, and personal tax and customs issues.

Working with lawyers in our other practice areas, we provide co-ordinating legal advice that arises during the immigration process such as personal tax, wealth preservation and real estate transaction advice. We regularly advise clients who are seeking to sponsor family members from abroad for Permanent Residence in Canada.

Claims for Canadian Citizenship by means of derivative claims, by birth abroad or by naturalization and advising “returning Canadians” on important tax and customs considerations are also part of the services we offer.
